DIESEL MECHANICAL LOCOMOTIVES

  Diesel Mechanical "Sallowvallets"

0-4-0 Diesel Mechanical "Sallowvallets" wears the livery of the ficticious Dean Forest Tramway Company and is in fact electrically powered - notice the switch on the rear of the cab! Also of note is the metric load painted on the coal wagon.

Diesel Mechanical "Gilbert"

It's red, it's on a plinth near a narrow gauge railway but it's not "Welsh Pony". It's "Gilbert", complete with hopelessly optimistic driver! Not for much longer, though, as the name "Gilbert" has been transferred to a new red-liveried geared tram locomotive and this battery-electric is set for rebuilding ahead of the 2006 Open Days.
