| The particular vehicle in the three images above is an early model Bedford S Type 4x2 fitted with a Reynolds-Boughton third axle conversion to facilitate the extra weight of the huge cattle carrying body - and indeed the cattle! The specification was laid down by Gouldings of Newent, owners of a magnificent fleet of vehicles that once operated from the transport complex alongside the ambulance and fire stations. Creating this model required the chassis unit from one of Exclusive First Edition's long wheelbase Bedford TKs to have its rear axle repositioned and adding another axle from a similar ready-to-run model. The cab area was shaped and the mounting structure added to fit a resin cab sourced from Transport Images ( Frank Waller of Sittingbourne, Kent ) who also supplied the replica wheels. The cattle body meanwhile was scratch built based on a Carama body. | ||

| In contrast to a specialist haulier of live animals, this Downton owned Volvo FH 6x2 carries supplies for Pets at Home. Realising this HGV as a 4mm scale model involved a cab rebuild from a Corgi product and a masterly paint job on the aerodynamic double deck trailer. | ||

| Animals of course need food, and farm animal such as cattle need food in bulk - hence the scratch built Kelberg feed trailer coupled to a Volvo 6x2 tractor unit which will eventually appear in the markings of Avonline of Staunton Court. | ||

| In an earlier stage of construction in August 2010 was this Seddon Mk V in the markings of Eric Vick of Hardwicke. The Pennine cab is from a resin kit and the chassis is also made of resin while the cattle-carrying body has been created by detailing an existing unit. | ||
