| Although the lettering on the rigid bodied trailer says London and Liverpool, Tate & Lyle once had a depot at Stoke Orchard near Tewkesbury and so merit the inclusion of this Foden powered rig in the Mellor Brothers collection. Sir Henry Tate, after whom London's Tate Gallery is named, invented the sugar cube while Abram Lyle, originally from Scotland, pioneered the production of Golden Syrup in Plaistow. The two companies only merged after the deaths of their respective founders but the Biblical motto "From the strong comes forth sweetness" continues on the green and gold tins today. | ||

| Although visitors to the Cheltenham GWR Modeller's Exhibitions are always pleased to see the latest Mellor Brothers creations, it is also interesting when a blast from the past arrives at the RiverView Cafe. In this case Seddon 13:4 tractor TGX 480M in dark blue and white United Biscuits livery is coupled to a rare glass reinforced plastic rigid bodied York Freightmaster trailer in KP Nuts markings. This particular model with the Widnes depot code 103 represents a regular Lancashire trunker supplying the Ashville Road warehouse in Gloucester and is built from an original Westward white metal kit. | ||
