| Unveiled at the Cheltenham GWR Modeller's Exhibition in April 2009 was this Volvo FM 4x2 tractor unit and three axle platform trailer due for completion in the colours of steel stock specialists Lilleshalls of Bristol Road, Gloucester. The tractor's day cab was a conversion from an FH Globetrotter sleeper unit, seen below for comparison. With the model fully dismantled, the roof and sleeper unit of the FH cab were removed with a junior hacksaw. The rear cab panel was separated, and refitted after a further horizontal cut was made through the cab to remove the 1.5mm section that differentiates an FH from an FM unit: not a job for the faint hearted or novice modellers! Araldite and the radiance of an overnight storage heater assisted the perfect bonding of components. | ||

| By mid 2010 progress had been made on the vertical uprights on the trailer. The next step will be to add wooden bolsters between these uprights, thereby allowing he steel load to be removed by fork lift truck. | ||
